Last week was a big week! On Monday, we kicked off East Coast Immersion II: our second annual training intensive with Professor Roy Dean! The mat was full all week with students from Team Stillness, as well as others that traveled from academies near and far for the event. Lots learned, and even more fun had! 👍🏼
On Thursday night, I tested for my Brown Belt. It was an intense experience! I found myself overwhelmed by the size of the audience in attendance, and by the outpouring of love and support for lil' old me. Thank you all for coming and cheering me on! It really means a lot to me. 😊🎉
On Friday, Jen Ralston Professor Dean, and I rode down to Georgia for a seminar on Saturday.
Over the weekend, I got to see my old friend Jeremy Laviano, and train at his academy, Hamby Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Albany, Ga. While in Albany, I found myself waxing nostalgic and reflecting on my years living there. Memories... 🙂
After training at Hamby's, Jen and I drove to Blind Fury Brazilian Jiujitsu in Columbus for Professor Dean's seminar. I got to meet a lot of good people there, and I look forward to the next trip to Georgia. 🤘🏻
It was a full and satisfying week, and my mind is still catching up to process everything that's happened. I'll give myself some time for that today, but my new Brown Belt is begging to be broken in (it's so much harder to tie new belts, lol), and is serving as a reminder that I still have much work to do. Can't wait. 😌😌😌
