My name is Cesar Clavijo, and I'm the founder of The Stillness Gym.
I created this academy to share my approach to Martial Arts and Physical Culture.
Here's a little more about my background:
Music: I've been a musician for most of my life, and although I no longer play professionally, I'll always consider myself a musician.
Military: I spent over a decade in the United States Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant of Marines.
Health: I've studied the work of many top professionals, and have trained in a few different systems earning titles like Kettlebell Lifting Coach (American Kettlebell Club under World Champion Valery Fedorenko); Circular Strength Training Coach (RMAX International); Holistic Lifestyle Coach (CHEK Institute); and others.
Martial Arts: The Stillness Gym is an affiliate of the world-renowned
Roy Dean Academy, and I hold Brown Belt in Jiu Jitsu under Professor Dean.
During my time in the Corps, I earned a Black Belt in MCMAP. I've also trained as an instructor in the Gracie Survival Tactics system for Military and Law Enforcement.
I've studied Martial Arts for much of my life, and during that time,
I have often traveled to in order to learn. I am grateful to the giants that have generously shared their knowledge, especially:
Scott Sonnon, Roy Harris, Luiz Palhares, Joe Moreira, Pedro Sauer, Rorion Gracie, Ryron Gracie, Rener Gracie, Ralek Gracie, Jerry Moreno, Jonathan Hannah, and Ben Rhodes.
The methods at The Stillness Gym reflect the
Eastern and Western
systems of health, fitness, and fighting that have impacted
my body, mind, and approach to being human.
